The ban on private gatherings of five or more people remains in place, and in areas with level 1.5 distancing, there are no restrictions on operating hours for multi-use facilities such as entertainment venues, restaurants, and cafes. Wearing masks is mandatory both indoors and outdoors.
Jinju, Sacheon, Gimhae, and Yangsan, where chain infections continue, will have their distancing level 2 extended or raised.
The province explained that if the nationwide weekly average daily confirmed cases worsen to 800 or more, the government will consider strengthening quarantine measures such as tightening operating hour restrictions and raising the distancing level.
Along with this, the province will extend the current level 2 distancing in Jinju, where many recent confirmed cases have occurred, for one week until the 10th.
Gatherings are prohibited at five types of entertainment facilities, holdem clubs, 21 general restaurants with live performances, indoor sports facilities, and religious facilities will hold non-face-to-face services.
Sacheon’s level 2 distancing will also be extended until the 9th. Yangsan will raise its distancing to level 2 from the 4th to the 10th.
To quickly block the cluster infections originating from entertainment establishments in Sacheon, the province issued an administrative order requiring workers at entertainment and danran pubs, karaoke rooms, and users who visited these facilities from the 19th to the 30th of last month to undergo diagnostic testing from the 2nd to the 7th.
248 entertainment and danran pubs and karaoke rooms in Sacheon have voluntarily decided to close until the 9th.
