Seongbuk-gu Provides 500,000 Won Temporary Living Support to Low-Income Crisis Households
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seongbuk-gu (Mayor Seungro Lee) will provide a one-time living support fund of 500,000 KRW to vulnerable households whose income has decreased due to COVID-19 but who have not received other COVID-19 damage support programs.
Applications will begin on May 10 through the 'Bokjiro' website, and from the 17th, on-site applications will be accepted at the local community centers of the applicant's address.
For smooth application processing, online applications will be conducted based on an odd-even system according to the birth year. It should also be noted that on-site applications are not available on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays.
The eligibility for the one-time living support fund includes households whose income has decreased due to the impact of COVID-19, with the total household income being less than 75% of the median income standard and assets below 600 million KRW. However, those who are already recipients of existing welfare programs (basic livelihood security benefits or emergency livelihood benefits) or other COVID-19 disaster support funds (emergency employment stabilization support, general taxi driver emergency employment stabilization support, home care worker livelihood support, Buttimgok Plus Fund, income stabilization support fund, etc.) are excluded.
The living support fund is 500,000 KRW regardless of the number of household members and will be paid in cash to the account applied for after mid-June. For more detailed information about emergency living support for vulnerable households residing in Seongbuk-gu, please contact the Ministry of Health and Welfare at 129, the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters one-time living support, or the dedicated call center and local community centers of Seongbuk-gu Office.
Seungro Lee, Mayor of Seongbuk-gu, stated, “We will focus administrative efforts to ensure that emergency living expenses are provided quickly and accurately to Seongbuk-gu residents facing difficulties due to COVID-19.”
