Geumcheon-gu Gives Wings to the Talents of Young Artists
Geumcheon-gu Recruiting Participants for Youth Culture and Arts Support Project 'Talent Market'... Seeking Cultural and Arts Freelancers Aged 19-39 Living or Active in the Area... Apply by April 30 via QR Code on Cheongchun Building Website Promotional Material
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yuseonghun) is recruiting participants for the ‘Talent Market’ until the 30th to support the talent development activities of young freelance artists whose activities have been restricted due to COVID-19.
The ‘Talent Market’ is a project prepared by Cheongchun Building to support young freelancers who are experiencing career interruptions and financial difficulties due to cancellations of performances and events caused by COVID-19.
Any talented young freelancer aged 19 to 39 who resides or works in Geumcheon-gu can apply regardless of their field of activity.
Youth wishing to participate can submit an application form, portfolio, and documents proving freelancer qualifications through the QR code on the Cheongchun Building website and SNS promotional materials.
The district plans to select and support a final 15 teams (or individuals) through a first round of document review and a second round of interview evaluation on activity plans. Selected youth will receive talent development funds worth 1 million KRW and opportunities to participate in content production and projects.
Meanwhile, Cheongchun Building is an open youth activity space established in 2016 in Doksan 3-dong through collaboration with the youth organization ‘Kkumjirak Network’ to support youth communities and various activities.
Cheongchun Building signed a business agreement with the Geumcheon Cultural Foundation last year to discover young artists active in the region and revitalize local community culture and arts.
Starting with this Talent Market project, the district plans to support young people in gaining diverse activity experiences in related fields through linkage with various projects conducted by the Geumcheon Cultural Foundation.
