The campaign, which continues until May 6, is a city-wide participation initiative aimed at breaking the chain of small-scale community infections occurring recently in various groups and places such as family and acquaintances’ gatherings and workplaces.
A total of 132 organizations and groups are participating in this campaign, including all local government offices and related institutions within the region (81 institutions), the Volunteer Group Council, and 51 organizations affiliated with the Women’s Group Council.
Additionally, public officials and employees are adhering to work under self-quarantine by refraining from entering entertainment facilities and bathhouses, avoiding non-urgent private meetings, outings, and business trips, thereby minimizing interpersonal contact in the workplace.
Mayor Jo Gyu-il, who visited a multi-use facility located in Sangpyeong-dong on the day, said, “This is a very difficult and challenging time, but a brief pause is crucial for the restoration of normal daily life as in previous years,” and earnestly requested, “Please pause private gatherings and events for a moment.”
