Eunpyeong-gu 'Youth Mobile Newsletter' Production
Seoul District's First Youth Mobile Newsletter Created... Easy Access to Youth Program Participation and Phone Inquiries
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Eunpyeong-gu (Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) has created the Eunpyeong Youth Mobile Newsletter, the first of its kind among Seoul's autonomous districts, which gathers news about major events and schedules from various youth facilities in the area to promote youth activity participation.
The inaugural spring 2021 issue introduced major project promotions and event schedules from 10 public and municipal youth facilities in the district. The newsletter enhanced accessibility and convenience by providing direct links through the newsletter screen to each facility’s website, phone contacts, and program registration menus.
The newsletter will be published quarterly, and the third-quarter issue will involve youth directly in its production. Youth will decide the newsletter title and contribute content such as facility explorations, interviews, and events (quizzes), reflecting their opinions in a diverse format.
To this end, a youth promotion team will be recruited targeting 14 to 18-year-olds, and education on investigating youth facility projects and article writing will be provided.
Kim Mi-kyung, Mayor of Eunpyeong-gu, said, “Until now, youth had to visit multiple institutions’ websites individually to find information about youth-related programs or events, which was very inconvenient. Through the Eunpyeong Youth Mobile Newsletter, I hope youth will increase opportunities for information sharing and activity participation and continue their daily lives healthily.”
The newsletter will be sent via Kakao AlimTalk to local youth and official letters to schools and youth facilities. It can also be accessed through the 'Eunpyeong Youth Newsletter' section on the Eunpyeong-gu Office website and related links.
