Gwangju Seo-gu Opens 3rd Branch of Unmanned Book Lending 'Smart Library'
Over 200 Books Available on Basement Level 1 at Uncheon Station
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The third Smart Library in the Seo-gu area of Gwangju Metropolitan City has opened.
Seo-gu announced on the 26th that it has opened the unmanned book lending and return system "Smart Library" on the basement first floor of Uncheon Station and will begin full-scale operation.
So far, Seo-gu has provided residents with a non-face-to-face safe book lending service through the Smart Libraries at Sangmu Station and Seo-gu Office during the COVID-19 pandemic, which restricted cultural activities.
The newly opened third Smart Library was established through a business agreement between Seo-gu and Gwangju Urban Railway Corporation to provide residents with a safe and convenient reading environment in the COVID-19 era.
It operates year-round, allowing users to borrow and return books unmanned at their desired time.
About 200 books, mainly new releases and bestsellers in various fields, are stocked, and books will be regularly replaced in the future.
Books available for lending can be searched on the Seo-gu Integrated Library website, and any regular member of the Seo-gu Integrated Library can borrow up to two books per person for 15 days.
