Yuanta Securities Introduces Day Trading and Odd-Lot Trading Services for Taiwanese Stocks
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Seon-ae] Yuanta Securities announced on the 26th that it will proactively introduce Taiwan stock day trading (Day Trading: buying and selling on the same day) and odd-lot trading services, enabling domestic investors in Taiwan stocks to make swift investment decisions and compose diverse investment portfolios.
The Taiwan stock market, which includes global companies such as TSMC, Formosa Plastics, and ASUS, has attracted domestic investors' attention in line with the overseas stock investment boom and portfolio diversification trend. However, unlike in Taiwan, domestic investors have been unable to engage in day trading and could only trade in units of 1,000 shares, limiting their access to promising stocks and execution of investment strategies.
In response, Yuanta Securities has newly introduced a Taiwan stock day trading service that allows trading anytime during regular trading hours (Korean time 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM), enabling investors to make quick investment decisions and realize profits and losses. Stocks eligible for day trading can be checked through the T-Trader and T-Trader M order screens.
Along with this, the odd-lot trading service for Taiwan stocks will also be opened. Previously, trading was only possible in units of 1,000 shares during regular hours, limiting domestic investors' access to promising stocks. With this new regular session odd-lot trading service, the trading unit for Taiwan stocks has been expanded, allowing for more diverse portfolio composition with Taiwan stocks than before. Additionally, odd-lot trading is also possible in the after-hours odd-lot market (Korean time 2:40 PM to 3:30 PM), providing additional investment opportunities. However, day trading of odd-lot shares is not allowed.
