Seocho-gu, Training and Employment Connection for Youth as 'AI Data Labeling Specialists'
50 Young Adults Aged 19-34 Participated in Three 2-Week Sessions from April to May...Employment Linked to 'Data Jobs' at Demand Companies After Specialized Training
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seocho-gu (Mayor Eunhee Cho) will operate a new vocational training program for ‘Artificial Intelligence (AI) Data Labeling’ specialists starting on the 26th to support young job seekers facing difficulties in employment due to COVID-19.
‘Data labeling,’ a core technology in the digital era, involves collecting, analyzing, and processing data so that artificial intelligence (AI) can recognize it. As the domestic and international market environment shifts to a digital focus, this has emerged as a new occupation gaining attention as a promising new job sector.
This training program will select 50 young residents of Seocho-gu who wish to work as data annotators through three sessions from April to May, with each group undergoing a 2-week course three times.
The curriculum consists of practical training including OA utilization, data annotator manual education, review, and feedback.
After completion, the program supports employment in companies, providing a foundation for young people to enter specialized professions related to AI.
In particular, the program reflects the district’s strong commitment to fostering the data industry and offering highly competitive employment opportunities for youth. In 2020, the Seocho AI Data Labeling training program selected 50 participants and operated three sessions, each consisting of 40 hours.
Out of the 50, 47 completed the course, and 45 of them were employed by demand companies.
The trainees’ satisfaction with the education was very high, establishing this as Seocho’s representative customized job project for young people struggling with employment.
Detailed information can be found on the Seocho-gu Office website or the Seocho Women’s Human Resources Development Center website.
Applications can be submitted via a Google Form available in the announcements section of the Seocho-gu Office website.

Meanwhile, to provide employment opportunities for young people facing an employment crisis due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and overall economic downturn, the district is fully committed to nurturing talent suitable for the AI era by promoting programs such as ▲Blockchain College and ▲Robot Coding College in the second half of the year.
These jobs allow work without restrictions on time and place, such as telecommuting and part-time work, and are niche occupations that can be immediately deployed in the Fourth Industrial Revolution sectors, offering optimized jobs for young people.
