Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju, Promotes Social Economy Project '7manbo-ui Seonmul'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] Gwangsan District in Gwangju Metropolitan City is launching a project to revitalize the social economy linked to ‘Happy Road Walking Gwangsan,’ which is being promoted to enhance citizens' immunity.
On the 25th, Gwangsan District announced that as part of the WalkOn (walking app) challenge and the first social economy collaboration project under ‘Walking Gwangsan,’ it will implement ‘The Gift of 70,000 Steps.’
‘The Gift of 70,000 Steps’ is a ‘citizen-led promotional marketing’ initiative that breaks away from traditional promotional methods such as booklets and websites, allowing people to directly experience and promote the social economy. It was jointly planned by Gwangsan District and the social enterprise growth support center, ‘Social Campus On Gwangju.’
The WalkOn challenge will run for two weeks from the 26th of this month to the 9th of next month. Citizens who achieve 70,000 steps during this period will receive a free coupon for a ‘One-Day Class’ offered by social economy enterprises, which can be used by the participant and one accompanying person. Over 20 social economy enterprises have prepared various programs such as rice cake making, candle making, drone experience, drip coffee, and foot massage.
After the challenge ends, a one-day class and commemorative event will be held at ‘Social Campus On Gwangju’ on the 15th of next month.
Challenge achievers who received free coupons can participate in their desired programs on the day of the commemorative event by making a prior reservation.
The event will be conducted with a minimized number of participants, 2 to 3 people per social economy enterprise, considering the COVID-19 situation.
A first-come, first-served event will also be held where challenge achievers who leave and share their experience reviews on SNS will receive gifts.
To encourage active participation from citizens, Gwangsan District is promoting this project to over 17,000 WalkOn subscribers, and ‘Social Campus On Gwangju’ is supporting the program experience costs.
Starting with ‘The Gift of 70,000 Steps,’ Gwangsan District plans to continue promoting projects that stimulate the purchase of social economy enterprise products.
