Iranian Tanker Anchored Off Western Syria Attacked... At Least 3 Dead

Earlier that day, the Iranian tanker anchored at the port city of Baniyas in Tartus Province, western Syria, was struck by an unidentified aerial attack. Syrian state news agency SANA, citing the country's oil minister, reported that the tanker appeared to have been attacked by a drone launched from the direction of Lebanese waters. Iran has been supporting the government forces in the Syrian civil war, which has been ongoing since 2011.
