A, who served as the head of the music department at a university in Gyeongnam, received 100 million won from a victim in November 2014 at a restaurant in Busan by promising to hire them as a vocal music major professor.
Using this method, from September to December 2014, he received a total of 600 million won from five victims.
However, A did not have the authority to decide on professor appointments nor held a position that could directly influence such decisions. The money he took was used to pay off debts or for living expenses.

Judge An stated, “The victims have suffered severe financial damage and are petitioning for strict punishment against the defendant,” and added, “It seems very unlikely that the defendant will repay the victims even after being released.”
