Mokpo City to Implement Safe Speed '5030' Starting from the 17th
General Road Speed Limit 50km, Secondary Road Speed Limit 30km
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Seunghyun] Mokpo City, Jeollanam-do announced that starting from the 17th, the 'Safe Speed 5030' policy, which lowers the speed limit on general urban roads to within 50 km/h, will be fully implemented.
To this end, the city has maintained traffic facilities such as speed limit signs and road markings on 52 sections within the region, including Baeknyeon-daero, Yeongsan-ro, and Tongil-daero.
The 'Safe Speed 5030' policy, according to the revision of the Road Traffic Act Enforcement Rules, limits the speed to 50 km/h on major urban roads and 30 km/h on side streets such as residential areas and school zones. The city, in consultation with the Mokpo Police Station, designated speed limits for 52 sections (86.7 km) including major roads and side streets within the region.
