Gokseong-gun Future Education Foundation Holds Orientation for 'Lifelong Learning Happy Community'
Selection of 19 Learning Community Divisions and 18 Learning Clubs
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] The Jeonnam Gokseong-gun Future Education Foundation (Chairman Yoo Geun-gi) announced on the 16th that it held an orientation on the 14th for about 50 subcommittee members of the 2021 Lifelong Learning Happy Community (hereafter Happy Community).
The Happy Community is a program where adults residing in Gokseong or those who have various relationships with Gokseong voluntarily gather to support learning activities in their areas of interest. A total of 19 learning communities and 18 learning clubs were selected.
The orientation, which lasted about an hour, was organized as an opportunity to share the necessity and values of adult learning culture together with the Happy Community members.
Yoo Geun-gi, chairman of the Future Education Foundation, said, “The voluntary learning culture of adults is a good educational ecosystem for children to grow well in the region,” adding, “The growth of Gokseong people through education is the hope that overcomes the crisis of regional extinction and revitalizes the area.”
The 37 Happy Communities selected this time will engage in regular activities until December on various learning topics including culture and arts, local ecological environment, history, humanities, notable figures, and reading discussions.
Participants showed high interest in Gokseong education, coming from various sectors such as teachers and parents related to education, police stations, local youth, and farmers.
The Happy Community plans to hold an academy in July to share the mid-term learning process and conduct invited lectures, and at the end of the year, it will host a conference as a place to share learning and as an educational festival for adults.
