Changwon City held a ceremony commemorating the 72nd anniversary of the Marine Corps at 11 a.m. on the 15th at the Marine Corps Origin Monument in Jinhae-gu.

About 60 people attended the event, including Lee Honghee, President of the Marine Corps Veterans Association, members of the National Assembly, provincial councilors, and city councilors.
The commemorative event proceeded in the order of awarding commendations to meritorious Marine veterans, commemorative speeches, congratulatory speeches, and the Marine Corps anthem.
Mayor Heo Seong-mu received a plaque of appreciation from the Marine Corps Veterans Association in recognition of his significant contributions to the development of the local community and the Marine Corps Veterans Association as a social contribution activity for "People-Centered New Changwon."
The Marine Corps Jinhae Veterans Association, which hosted the event, said, "We sincerely thank Mayor Heo for his wholehearted support for the development of the Marine Corps Veterans Association so far, and we will continue to carry out leading missions for the local community."
