[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] The Gwangjin District Council (Chairperson Park Sam-rye) visited the settlement inspection site on the 14th to encourage the committee members who are conducting the 2020 fiscal year settlement inspection.
The settlement inspection, which began on March 30, is being conducted by Representative Member Kim Mi-young of the Gwangjin District Council, along with members Kim Ki-dong (former local administrative officer), Song Geun-seop (tax accountant), and Chae Jong-cheol (tax accountant). The inspection is scheduled to last 30 days until April 28.
The appointed members systematically review whether the 2020 fiscal year revenue and expenditure budgets were executed in accordance with regulations and purposes, and whether financial statements and performance reports were prepared transparently, evaluating the financial management performance over the past year.
After the settlement inspection is completed, the inspection opinion report will be submitted to the Gwangjin District Council. The council plans to conduct a thorough review during the 245th 1st regular session and give final approval to the 2020 fiscal year revenue and expenditure settlement statement and performance report.

Chairperson Park Sam-rye and the accompanying council members encouraged the committee members entrusted with the important task of settlement inspection during their visit, requesting them to thoroughly examine whether any budget was used unnecessarily amid the urgent situation caused by COVID-19. They also emphasized, "The settlement inspection is an important process to review whether the budget was used according to its purpose," and urged, "Please carefully check through the inspection whether the budget was properly used as originally intended."
