Haman-gun Promotes Road Lighting LED Replacement Project
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] On the 14th, Haman-gun, Gyeongnam announced that it will promote a road lighting LED replacement project.
This project is a local energy-saving initiative aimed at responding to government policies related to greenhouse gas reduction by replacing streetlights and security lights within the county with eco-friendly, high-efficiency LEDs.
To promote the project, the county underwent an evaluation by the Korea Energy Agency and was finally selected in December last year for a public project by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. It secured 300 million KRW in national funding out of the total project cost of approximately 1.27 billion KRW.
Through this project, the county expects to save 309 toe (tons of oil equivalent) of energy annually, reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 620 tons, and achieve a budget saving effect of 157 million KRW.
