Jangseong-gun 'Agricultural Food Processing Expert Course' Receives Positive Response
[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do is promoting the ‘Food Storage and Processing Technology Specialist Course’ education, receiving great responses from participants.
According to the county on the 13th, this education started on the 31st of last month for food manufacturing industry workers and group meal service workers in the region, and is being held every Wednesday, consisting of a total of 12 sessions (48 hours).
While last year’s education aimed at obtaining professional certification (Food Processing Technician National Technical Qualification Course), this year focuses on transferring food processing technology for mass production purposes.
Participants are learning techniques such as pickling and fruit syrup using Jangseong’s representative fruits, apples and persimmons, manufacturing techniques for leafy and root vegetable pickles, puree production and freezing storage methods for fruit and vegetable crops, and rapid traditional fermented sauce production methods.
The county plans to provide opportunities for trainees who wish to start a business related to processed foods after completing this education to produce various products.

A county official said, “Participants are highly satisfied as they can acquire skills applicable in actual processed food manufacturing sites,” adding, “It is expected to greatly help in cultivating mass production processing technology for food and acquiring basic knowledge of agricultural product storage.”
