Dongdaemun-gu Operates Customized Programs Through Single-Person Household Support Center 'Honjasalon'...Providing Various Services Including Professional Counseling, Relationship Improvement, Self-Care, and Social Network Formation
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor You Deok-yeol) will provide various integrated online and offline programs for single-person households throughout this year.
Through ‘Honja Salon,’ established last year as a support center for single-person households within the Dongdaemun-gu Healthy Family and Multicultural Family Support Center, this year as well, programs will be operated to resolve daily life difficulties faced by single-person households, strengthen daily living capabilities, and enhance social network building skills. These include professional counseling, future planning, self-care education, club activity support, life safety education, leisure activity support, customized case management, and life safety education.
Year-round, the ‘Dongili (the nickname for Dongdaemun-gu’s single-person households) Secret Counseling Room’ provides professional counseling on issues related to daily life and interpersonal relationships for single-person households, and the self-help group ‘Neulbeot’ supports community activities where three or more people gather around themes such as daily life, leisure, and culture.
Additionally, programs such as ‘Wise Single Living,’ which promotes communication with others through making daily necessities, cooking, and life planning education to enhance the health of single-person households; ‘Dongili’s Bamboo Forest,’ an emotional communication meeting sharing daily worries and stress among participants using various themes; ‘Dongili’s Deukgeun Deukgeun,’ home training for health improvement and increasing life energy; ‘Virtue of Sharing,’ a traditional market tour and ingredient sharing; and gender equality education ‘Dongili’s Standing as Myself’ are also conducted.
The district expects that through this project, it will not only help alleviate the risk of social isolation for single-person households and promote network formation but also provide a foundation to strengthen their living capabilities so they can live independently and healthily.
Any single-person household residing in or working within the Dongdaemun-gu living area can apply for the programs, and participation is free of charge.
