Train Derailment in Taiwan: 4 Dead, 3 Seriously Injured

According to local media such as Liberty Times, around 9 a.m. on the same day, the Taroko No. 408 train, heading from Shulin (樹林) in New Taipei City (新北), northern Taiwan, to Taitung (台東), derailed inside the Daqingshui Tunnel in Hualien (花蓮).
Local media reported that 2 cars of the train derailed in this accident, resulting in 4 passenger deaths, 3 serious injuries, and 20 minor injuries so far. While the fire department continues rescue operations, the railway authorities have begun investigating the cause of the accident.
