Defense Acquisition Program Administration's Agency for Defense Development to Collaborate with Private Specialized Companies on Testing and Evaluation
[Asia Economy Yang Nak-gyu, Military Specialist Reporter] HCT, a domestic private testing and analysis company, is signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Defense Industry Technology Promotion Institute.
According to HCT on the 1st, through this MOU with the institute, they will mutually cooperate in tasks such as testing and evaluation of weapon systems and components, research on testing standards and establishment of testing and evaluation plans, failure cause analysis, and improvements.
The institute stated, "It is expected that testing tasks and failure cause analysis of test results and design improvement support, which have been considered difficult and complex in the defense operational environment, will be conducted more systematically."
Established in January as an affiliated organization of the Defense Technology Quality Institute, the institute performs tasks such as planning and managing defense research and development projects, fostering the defense industry and supporting exports, discovering domestically produced items, and supporting testing and evaluation.
Lim Young-il, director of the institute, emphasized, "To strengthen the international competitiveness of our weapon systems, securing the reliability of components through testing is very important," and added, "We plan to continuously expand business agreements with testing and certification organizations that have competitiveness in regional hubs."
