Mokpo National University Robot AI Convergence Center Signs Makerspace Business Agreement in Smart Farm Industry Sector

View original image[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] Mokpo National University (President Park Min-seo) Robot Artificial Intelligence Convergence Center (Director Yoo Young-jae) announced on the 30th that it signed a business agreement with Jeollanam-do Agricultural Research and Extension Services on the 29th to activate manufacturing startups and spread maker culture in the smart agriculture field.
According to the agreement, both organizations will mutually cooperate in information sharing on manufacturing startups in the smart agriculture field, startup education and industrialization, prototype production, demonstration, and verification support.
Through this agreement, the Makerspace operated by Mokpo National University Robot Artificial Intelligence Convergence Center is expected to play the role of a specialized lab in the smart farm industry sector.
The Mokpo National University Makerspace was established with the goals of fostering local maker talent, spreading maker culture closely related to daily life, and revitalizing maker-linked startups to activate manufacturing and startups in the southwestern region of Jeollanam-do.
The Jeollanam-do Agricultural Research and Extension Services, which signed the agreement, is building a Youth Startup Farming Town to enable entrepreneurs in the smart agricultural industry to commercialize creative ideas and realize high added value. The Youth Startup Farming Town plans to nurture 120 startup companies and 40 growth companies in the future.
Through the agreement, both organizations expect to contribute to the success of Jeonnam’s Blue Economy strategy and the Korean New Deal by discovering startups and fostering startup companies in the future smart farm industry sector.
Yoo Young-jae, Director of the Robot Artificial Intelligence Convergence Center, said, “Through the business agreement with Jeonnam Agricultural Research and Extension Services, Mokpo National University Makerspace supports prototype production in the smart farm industry sector, and we hope that young people with ideas will grow into startups in promising future industries.”
