Providing Jobs to 206 People in Connection with Employment Support Projects for Vulnerable Groups
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The National Archives of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced on the 30th that it will carry out the "2021 National Archives Arrangement Project" to organize electronic records (about 3.8 million items) and non-electronic records (268,000 volumes: about 1 million items) by November for the management and viewing of national archives.
The National Archives Arrangement Project is a project that supports the inspection of the condition of electronic records transferred from each ministry to the National Archives and the organization and registration of non-electronic records to ensure the safe preservation of important national records and to expand the foundation for public service. From 2008 to 2020, a total of 55.2 billion KRW was invested to organize about 15.7 million electronic records and about 3.28 million volumes of non-electronic records.
This arrangement project will be carried out on a scale of 5.3 billion KRW, with 1.8 billion KRW invested in electronic record condition inspection and 3.5 billion KRW in non-electronic record organization. The electronic records process proceeds in the order of preparation → pilot inspection → visual inspection → quality control → condition analysis, and through inspections for errors, etc., they are registered in the Central Permanent Records Management System.
Non-electronic records are organized in the order of acceptance and temporary storage placement → preliminary investigation and removal → record organization → index list registration → re-binding and tag attachment (contactless electronic tag: RFID) → storage placement for long-term preservation and search/utilization.
Meanwhile, the National Archives plans to hire 206 people from vulnerable employment groups at the Seongnam Nara Archives and Daejeon Administrative Archives for this National Archives Arrangement Project. At the Seongnam Nara Archives, an average of 164 people per day will be hired to conduct electronic record condition inspections and non-electronic record organization, and at the Daejeon Administrative Archives, an average of 42 people per day will be hired to carry out non-electronic record organization.
In this regard, recruitment announcements will be made from April through the Ministry of Employment and Labor’s job information system Worknet (www.work.go.kr) by project sector. This recruitment will prioritize the selection of "vulnerable employment groups" according to the 2021 Direct Job Project Central Government and Local Government Joint Guidelines.
