Geumcheon-gu Recruiting Participants for Youth Community Support Project 'Do It' in First Half of Year...Ages 19-39, Youth Communities of 3+ Members Active in Geumcheon-gu...Apply by April 9 via QR Code on Cheongchun Building Website...Supporting Spaces, Relationships, and Opportunities for Diverse Youth Community Activities
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yuseonghun) is recruiting participants for the first half of the year for the ‘Do It’ community project, which supports various activities of local youth, until April 9.
‘Do It’ is a project that discovers young people active in the region, encourages their creative challenges and experiences, and helps form social relationships.
Youth communities of three or more members residing or active in Geumcheon-gu can apply regardless of their field of activity.
Selected communities will be supported with a certain amount of activity funds, spaces needed for meetings, and collaborative activities through exchanges among participants.
Youth wishing to participate can submit an application form via the QR code on the ‘Do It’ promotional materials on the Cheongchun Building website and SNS.
The first half ‘Do It’ communities will be selected through a first-round document screening and a second-round interview evaluating the community’s specific activity plans, with a final selection of up to 15 teams.
Meanwhile, Cheongchun Building, which oversees the project, is establishing cooperative relationships with local related organizations such as cultural foundations and facility management corporations, aiming to move beyond one-time activity support for participants to promote the social growth of youth communities and create a foundation for continuous activities within the region.
Last year, among about 80 applicant teams, a total of 30 teams and 145 youths safely completed community activities such as individual projects and online small group meetings without losing the bonds of solidarity despite the COVID-19 situation.
Mayor Yuseonghun said, “I hope the Do It community will be an opportunity for young people to carry out and challenge things they could not do alone and grow together,” adding, “I expect that youth activities will bear fruit as attachment and trust toward the region and develop into a driving force that leads positive change within the community.”
