Transportation, Forestry, and Environmental Big Data in One Place... Big Square Union Big Data Briefing on the 30th
Collaboration of Platforms in 5 Sectors Provides Data from 38 Companies
Expected to Discover Data Demand and Showcase Utilization Cases
[Asia Economy Reporter Jo Gang-wook] The Korea Transport Institute, Korea Forestry Promotion Institute, Korea Water Resources Corporation, KDX Korea Data Exchange, and Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation have joined hands to provide big data.
The Korea Transport Institute announced on the 27th that it will hold the '2021 Big Square Union Online Briefing Session' via live online broadcast on the 30th to promote the use of the transport data exchange, provide user-customized big data, and offer consultation for data utilization and purchase.
This briefing session is jointly hosted by institutions responsible for operating platforms in five sectors?transport (Korea Transport Institute), forestry (Korea Forestry Promotion Institute), environment (Korea Water Resources Corporation), distribution and consumption (KDX Korea Data Exchange), and agro-food (Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation)?as part of the 'Big Data Platform and Center Construction' project supported by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National Information Society Agency.
During the briefing, 38 companies collaborating with each sector's big data platform will introduce the data they possess and produce, while also presenting data demand discovery and utilization cases.
An introduction to the '2021 Data Voucher Support Project,' hosted by the Korea Data Agency, is also scheduled. This program supports data purchase and processing vouchers for small and medium enterprises, one-person creative companies, and prospective entrepreneurs. The Korea Transport Institute also serves as the specialized institution for the transport sector in this project.
Anyone interested in discovering new and innovative businesses through big data or in utilizing big data can apply for participation through the Big Square Union website by the 29th.
Oh Jae-hak, President of the Korea Transport Institute, said, "Creating various insights through big data starts with resolving data blind spots," adding, "Promoting platform data through briefing sessions like this will serve as a foundation to expand the utilization areas of the data dam."
