Gwangju Bank Launches 'KIA Tigers Victory Celebration Savings and Deposits'
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyo-jin] Gwangju Bank announced on the 25th that it will launch the ‘KIA Tigers Victory Support Savings and Deposit’ in line with the opening of the 2021 professional baseball season and sell it until July 31. Song Jong-wook, president of Gwangju Bank, was the first to subscribe to this product, wishing for the victory and championship of the KIA Tigers.
Gwangju Bank sells the ‘KIA Tigers Victory Support Savings and Deposit’ every year during the professional baseball season to support the KIA Tigers’ championship. Last year, it attracted attention by surpassing 10,000 accounts within two months of launch and conducting additional sales after exhausting the 200 billion KRW sales limit within three months.
The ‘KIA Tigers Victory Support Savings’ allows one account per person with a subscription amount ranging from 5 million KRW to a maximum of 50 million KRW, and offers a preferential interest rate of up to 0.25%p added to the base rate, providing a maximum annual interest rate benefit of 1.05% depending on the KIA Tigers’ professional baseball performance.
The conditions for the preferential interest rate are ▲0.05%p if the KIA Tigers advance to the postseason ▲0.1%p if they win the regular season ▲0.1%p if they win the Korean Series.
This fixed installment savings product allows subscriptions from 100,000 KRW to a maximum of 1 million KRW per month, offers the same preferential interest rate conditions as the savings (up to 0.25%p), and additionally provides an event preferential interest rate of up to 0.8%p to add excitement to cheering, offering a maximum annual interest rate of 2.05%.
The conditions for the event preferential interest rate are ▲0.1%p for customers who re-subscribe in 2021 after subscribing to the ‘KIA Tigers Victory Support Installment Savings’ in the 2020 season ▲up to 0.5%p depending on the longest winning streak of the KIA Tigers in the regular season ▲up to 0.2%p depending on the team’s winning percentage in the regular season.
