On the day, Ahn said, "Although I was not chosen as the unified candidate, I accept the result cleanly," adding, "I will do my best to increase public trust in the opposition through sincere implementation of promises and ensure that this effort leads to the victory of candidate Oh Se-hoon."
He said, "I will never forget the overwhelming expectations and love that supporters of the People Power Party have given me," and added, "Those who opened their hearts to me and supported me are truly valuable assets for boldly expanding the opposition’s domain and leading the flow of a new era, as well as a strong driving force for the grand opposition unity and regime change."
