View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, and Hamyang Saemaeul Geumgo announced on the 23rd that they have signed a business agreement for the ‘2021 MG Hope Sharing Birth Support Project’ to overcome the low birthrate issue, which has emerged as a social problem, together with the local community and to foster a birth encouragement atmosphere.
According to this business agreement, children born after January 1, 2021 (children registered as born in Hamyang-gun) will receive a birth congratulatory fund when issuing their first-ever bankbook at the respective Saemaeul Geumgo. Retroactive payments will also be made for children registered before the agreement was signed.
Under the agreement, if a bankbook is opened in the name of the newborn, Hamyang-gun Saemaeul Geumgo will provide a birth congratulatory fund of 200,000 KRW per child (deposited). However, if the Hope Foundation (central) budget is exhausted, the amount will be changed to 100,000 KRW.
To open a bankbook, after registering the birth, bring one copy each of the family relation certificate and basic certificate, parents’ identification cards, and the seal of either the parents or the child, and visit Hamyang-gun Saemaeul Geumgo to apply.
The county plans to actively promote this through local eup/myeon offices and health centers so that children born this year can benefit from it.
