Suncheon-si Conducts Special Inspection and Guidance for Delivery Restaurants with Rapidly Increasing Demand
Creating a Safe Food Environment through Hygiene and Safety Inspection Guidance
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon City (Mayor Heo Seok) announced on the 23rd that it will conduct special guidance and inspections on food establishments registered on delivery apps until the 26th to prevent food poisoning amid the surge in demand for delivery restaurants due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and rising temperatures.
This guidance and inspection will be carried out by 20 inspectors divided into four teams, consisting of consumer food hygiene monitors and city officials, focusing on 120 out of 480 establishments registered on delivery apps to check their hygiene status intensively.
The main inspection items include compliance with hygienic handling standards, which are key guidelines for preventing food poisoning, prohibition of cooking or selling expired products, adherence to storage and distribution standards, sterilization and disinfection of cooking utensils, wearing hygiene caps and masks by workers during business hours, as well as checking compliance with COVID-19 prevention measures.
The city plans to continuously strengthen hygiene and safety management by conducting special guidance and inspections of delivery app-registered establishments every quarter so that citizens can use these services with confidence.
