[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] The police have launched an investigation after multiple reports were received that a man riding a bicycle sprayed coffee on women who were alone and then fled.
The Changwon Jungbu Police Station in Gyeongnam announced on the 23rd that they are tracking a man who committed 'coffee terror' against women and ran away.
The man on the bicycle sprayed lukewarm coffee on the heads and bodies of women sitting at bus stops or benches in the Seongsan-gu area of Changwon City between the 9th and 21st.
The crimes occurred between 9 PM and midnight, a time when the surroundings were dark and there were few people around.
There were a total of six victims, all confirmed to be women in their 20s.
The police are investigating the circumstances of the incidents with the victims and tracking the man's movements based on closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage.
A police official stated, "Since this is suspected to be a crime targeting women, we are mobilizing all criminal investigation personnel to track down the suspect."
