President Yoon Ok-hyun emphasized in his inaugural speech, "Amid the dark clouds of the COVID-19 era and the difficulties faced by local universities, like the four-character idiom 'Unoe Changcheon' (雲外蒼天), I hope that with the establishment of these two sports teams, we can see a clear and bright sky."
The Gimcheon University badminton team was formed after Director Kim Min-ho, saddened by the absence of a university team in Gimcheon?a city specialized in badminton?proposed the establishment to the school.
Squash Director Jeong Chang-wook is widely known as a sports administrator, including serving as president of the Gyeongbuk Squash Federation, and a renowned coach who has trained numerous national representatives, dreaming of popularizing squash.
