Gwangju City Selected for 3 Projects in Ministry of the Interior and Safety's Social Economy Collaboration System Initiative
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 21st that three projects applied for by Dong-gu, Buk-gu, and Gwangsan-gu were selected in the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s ‘Social Economy Collaboration System Establishment Project.’
This public contest project is led by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, focusing on cities, counties, and districts that need to expand the foundation for revitalizing the social economy. It involves public-private collaboration to promote policies necessary for the region, such as social economy revitalization projects, market support, and talent development.
To apply for the contest project, Gwangju City held agenda discussions within the Social Economy Collaboration Team, composed of 21 members from 14 organizations, starting in January, and conducted consulting with autonomous districts prior to applying to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
The selected projects are ▲ Dong-gu’s social economy ‘Ieum’ project ▲ Buk-gu’s ‘Social Economy Community Buk-gu’ social value realization ▲ Gwangsan-gu’s online open market ‘e-Handa Jeompang’ establishment and operation for building a collaboration system.
Dong-gu’s social economy ‘Ieum’ project is carried out in collaboration with the Dong-gu Social Economy Federation, Gwangju Social Economy Support Center, local resident councils, and Chosun University, focusing on four areas: market support, talent development, discovering and fostering Dong-gu social economy models, and network activation.
The ‘Social Economy Community Buk-gu’ social value realization project collaborates with the Buk-gu Social Economy Federation, local social economy enterprises, and Buk-gu Youth Center to develop social economy enterprise brand designs, support certification of excellent technologies and promotional marketing, and run the SE Youth Social Economy Academy.
The establishment and operation of the online open market ‘e-Handa Jeompang’ is a collaboration with Gwangsan-gu social economy enterprises to open ‘Handa Jeompang,’ an online store for small social economy enterprises, providing nationwide market channels and supporting costs for online marketing and discount promotions.
The three selected autonomous districts will each promote their projects with a budget of 100 million KRW, supported by 50 million KRW in national funds, 25 million KRW in city funds, and 25 million KRW in self-funding.
