Research on Restoring Publicness and Strengthening Accountability in Privately Commissioned Administrative Services
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] The Seocho District Council (Chairperson Kim Ansook) launched the council member research group "Better Value Seocho" on the 19th.
"Better Value Seocho" is a research group composed of five Seocho District Council members aimed at improving issues related to private consignment affairs in Seocho District.
The launch ceremony was hosted by Kim Jungwoo, the secretary, and proceeded with congratulatory remarks from Chairperson Kim Ansook, followed by a report on the private consignment research project.
The main research project contents include general operation and management plans such as selection criteria and feasibility review of private consignment affairs, as well as strengthening the public nature and accountability of consigned affairs, including the protection of labor conditions for private consignment workers.

Council member Park Jinam, who will lead "Better Value Seocho," said, "With the development of local autonomy and to meet diverse administrative service demands, private consignment affairs utilizing private sector expertise have expanded. If the selection and management of private consignment agencies are not properly conducted, side effects such as budget waste and poor service may occur." He concluded his remarks by stating, "Through the 'Better Value Seocho' research group, we will carry out activities of 'Gyohak Sangjang (敎學相長)', learning and growing together."
