Martial Arts and Domestic Startup Scale-up Support... Meetup with Boehringer Ingelheim Held
[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] On the 16th, the Korea International Trade Association held a one-on-one meetup between the global pharmaceutical company Boehringer Ingelheim and domestic startups at the Trade Tower in Samseong-dong.
Boehringer Ingelheim, headquartered in Germany, is one of the world's top 20 pharmaceutical companies and a global leader ranked second in market share in the animal pharmaceuticals sector. In South Korea, it is also recognized as one of the top 10 global pharmaceutical companies in terms of sales, establishing a strong presence.
At the event, eight promising tech startups participated, including Fitpet, considered a leading company in the domestic pet economy (Pet+Economy), and DeepBio, which recently secured an investment worth 12 billion KRW for its prostate diagnosis software.
Ko Jung-wook, CEO of Fitpet, said, "Boehringer Ingelheim has been aggressively investing in the animal pharmaceuticals sector, including acquiring 'Merial,' the animal health division of the global pharmaceutical company Sanofi, in 2016. Since Fitpet is aiming to expand its business across the pet healthcare field, including pet insurance, we hope this meetup will lead to a successful partnership and create synergy with a global corporation leading the animal health sector."
