This event was organized with the purpose of encouraging active participation in blood donation by public institutions, private organizations, and residents within the district to overcome difficulties in blood supply caused by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
Gangjin-gun and the Gwangju-Jeonnam Blood Center conducted the event while strictly adhering to quarantine guidelines such as temperature checks for all blood donors, mask-wearing, social distancing, and disinfection of the blood donation bus to prevent COVID-19 infection. On that day, 101 participants including county officials, Gangjin Police Station, NongHyup, related organizations, and residents practiced sharing.
A resident who participated in the blood donation said, "As social distancing continues due to COVID-19, it seems people avoid donating blood, so I participated out of a heartfelt concern," adding, "I hope this helps solve the blood shortage."
