OB Beer, together with Blue Asia, conducted the 'Ttasum Box' campaign for fifteen days from early December last year, collecting winter coats, fleece pants, scarves, and wool hats from employees and the general public, securing winter supplies weighing 3,120 kg, more than four times that of 2019. In addition, OB Beer donated COVID-19 prevention supplies such as hand sanitizers and masks to protect the health and safety of environmental refugees who have difficulty using water and soap.
An OB Beer official said, "Environmental refugees in the Erdene Sum area of Mongolia are participating in the 'Cass Hope Forest' reforestation project despite difficult conditions, so we prepared the 'Ttasum Box' campaign to help them," adding, "Since yellow dust and fine dust inflow caused by desertification in Mongolia also affect the health of the people, we will put more effort into solving environmental problems."
The average minimum temperature in March in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia, is -13.8°C, and the average maximum temperature is -0.8°C, colder than the midwinter in Korea. Mongolia has implemented strong lockdown measures such as bans on inter-provincial travel, foreign entry bans, and school closures since January to respond to COVID-19, which delayed the delivery of the 'Ttasum Box' beyond the original plan.
OB Beer regards environmental issues as the most important immediate task and is carrying out various environmental campaigns. These include the environmental improvement project 'Cass Hope Forest,' which plants trees in Mongolia, the source of fine dust and yellow dust; the 'Can Crush Challenge,' which informs about the proper disposal of aluminum cans; and the 'Water and People Illustration Contest,' which raises awareness of the importance of water, all aimed at promoting the importance of environmental conservation.
