900 Sets of Sangja Community Garden in Geumcheon-gu Delivered by Courier
First-come, first-served total 900 sets for sale: 700 individual sets, 200 group sets... Apply March 15-20 via old website or visit District Office Park and Greenery Division
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) will implement the "Eco-friendly Box Garden Distribution Project," which allows residents to cultivate crops using residential spaces such as verandas and rooftops, starting from March 15.
This year, the total distribution quantity remains the same as last year, with a total of 900 sets, divided into 700 sets for individual distribution and 200 sets for group distribution.
One box garden set consists of a plastic box, 50 liters of potting soil, and 10 lettuce seedlings.
According to the preferences of the distribution recipients, individuals can select up to 4 sets, and groups up to 10 sets, from three types of box gardens.
Applications for the box garden can be made from March 15 to 20 through the district website's integrated reservation system or by visiting the Park and Greenery Division on the 11th floor of the district office.
Anyone residing in the district or organizations based in the district can apply.
Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, and the list of recipients will be announced on March 22 via the district website.
Once the individual payment (8,000 KRW per set) is confirmed, the ordered sets can be received by courier by April 10.
Additionally, the district will continue to distribute customized box gardens for elderly living alone this year, as it did last year.
On April 17, 100 households will receive one set each of easy-to-grow bean sprout kits and indoor air-purifying plants for home cultivation.
