Hapcheon-gun Operates 'Contactless Healthy Walking in Residents' Daily Lives'
Basic Physical Strength Enhancement and Immunity Boost for Physically and Mentally Exhausted Local Residents
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] The Hapcheon-gun Public Health Center in Gyeongnam is conducting a "Non-face-to-face Healthy Walking Program for Residents in Daily Life" starting from March 23 to strengthen the basic physical strength and boost immunity of local residents who are physically and mentally exhausted due to restrictions on outdoor activities caused by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
The county conducted a non-face-to-face healthy walking program for local residents from December 21 last year to February 20 this year.
More than 95% of participants in the local residents' non-face-to-face healthy walking program expressed a desire for the continuous operation of the non-face-to-face walking program and showed active responses indicating their intention to participate in the walking program.
The non-face-to-face healthy walking program is a self-directed walking exercise measured through smartphone walking apps and pedometers to prevent COVID-19 infection and comply with quarantine guidelines.
Local residents must wear masks and walk autonomously for 60 days; those aged 50 or older must walk at least 120 km (240,000 steps), and residents who achieve the goal can apply for walking success goods. (Those in their 20s to 40s must walk at least 150 km, 300,000 steps.)
Applications for this program are being accepted from March 10 to 17, and the non-face-to-face healthy walking in daily life will begin on the 23rd.
