"LG-SK Battery Dispute, Ford Also at Fault" Ford Directly Refutes ITC Criticism
Ford "Trading with SK Even Before Investigation"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ji-hee] U.S. automaker Ford has rebutted the opinion of the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC), which pointed out Ford's fault in the electric vehicle battery dispute between LG Energy Solution and SK Innovation.
According to major foreign media, on the 5th (local time), Ford stated, "Contrary to the ITC's speculation, Ford has been dedicated to three battery programs with SK Innovation even before any unfair management was revealed," adding, "If the ITC had held a hearing, the key facts would have come to light." Ford also emphasized, "We do not tolerate SK's actions that are subject to criticism, including the misuse of trade secrets and destruction of evidence during the investigation process."
Earlier, the ITC, in its final opinion released on the same day regarding the battery dispute between LG Energy Solution and SK Innovation, clearly stated that SK had infringed LG's trade secrets and pointed out that "(Ford) continued its business relationship with SK despite being aware of SK's infringement."
