[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seodaemun-gu (Mayor Moon Seok-jin) is recruiting a youth evaluation group of up to 100 members to monitor major district projects and events and to gather ideas for system improvements.
The target applicants are youths who can use computers and are interested in district administration. Any youth residing in Seodaemun-gu or attending middle or high school within the district can apply.
Applicants can download the application form from the district website’s notice board or the relevant menu (Citizen Participation → Citizen Proposals/Evaluation → Youth District Evaluation Group), fill it out, and submit it by email (happysmile16@sdm.go.kr) by the 19th.
Selected evaluation members will be active for one year from April this year to March next year. Volunteer hours will be recognized based on performance, and outstanding members will receive a commendation from the mayor.
Last year, the evaluation group conducted various activities such as monitoring quarantine management at the district public library and discovering and proposing improvements in the fields of environment, safety, and transportation.
This year, evaluations will be conducted on cultural hub facilities in the Sinchon area, Ansan (鞍山) barrier-free trail, heat relief shelters, the district website, youth union festivals, walking events, and the Independence and Democracy Festival.
This year’s activities will be mainly non-face-to-face and outdoor-centered, depending on social distancing conditions.
