Muan-gun Launches Full-Scale Marine and Fisheries Project Worth 5.5 Billion Won
246 Fishing Households Selected for 2021 Marine and Fisheries Projects
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Oh Hwan-ju] Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) announced on the 4th that it will actively promote the 2021 marine and fisheries project to improve fishing production conditions by investing a total project cost of 5.5 billion won.
The marine and fisheries project will be carried out through 27 types of projects such as aquaculture farm purification, fishing vessel equipment improvement, modernization of aquaculture facilities, and promotion of the solar salt industry to enhance the convenience of fishermen and strengthen fishing competitiveness.
The county received applications for the marine and fisheries project for one month from January 14 to February 15, and after deliberation by the Fisheries Adjustment Committee, confirmed 246 fishing households as project targets.

Governor Kim San said, "Starting the project in earnest from March, we will strive to revitalize the depressed fishing villages and establish a foundation for a sustainable fisheries industry," and added, "We plan to actively support fishermen so that they can focus on production activities in a better environment."
