424 COVID-19 Cases Confirmed... Over 400 Cases for Two Consecutive Days (Update)

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Seo So-jeong] On the 4th, the number of new domestic COVID-19 cases recorded 424, marking the second consecutive day with cases in the 400s.
The Central Disease Control Headquarters (CDCH) announced that as of midnight, 424 new domestic COVID-19 cases were confirmed, bringing the total to 91,240. Of these, 401 were domestic transmissions and 23 were imported cases.
By region, Seoul reported 117 cases, Gyeonggi 177 cases, and Incheon 18 cases, totaling 312 cases in the metropolitan area.
In non-metropolitan areas, Daegu reported 19 cases, Busan 17, Chungbuk 12, Gyeongnam 9, Gwangju and Gangwon·Jeonbuk each 6, Gyeongbuk 5, Daejeon·Jeju each 3, Chungnam 2, and Jeonnam 1. No cases were reported in Ulsan and Sejong.
Among the 23 imported cases, 6 were detected during quarantine, and the remaining 17 were confirmed in the local community. Of these, 9 were Korean nationals and 14 were foreigners.
The cumulative number of COVID-19 deaths increased by 7 from the previous day, reaching 1,619. The number of critically ill patients is 140.
The number of newly released from isolation increased by 462, bringing the total to 82,162.
As of midnight, 65,446 people received additional COVID-19 vaccinations, bringing the total number of people who completed the first dose to 154,421.
