[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] 11st will launch a campaign this year to support abandoned and companion animals.
11st announced on the 4th that the 'Shopping, Becoming Hope' campaign video recently released on YouTube surpassed 1.5 million views in just three days.
Lee Seung-yoon, the winner of JTBC's audition program 'Sing Again,' participated in the narration, arrangement, and singing of the video. Lee, who has always been interested in abandoned animals, sympathized with the purpose of this 11st campaign and had a meaningful time by rearranging and singing his self-composed song 'Poetic License' from the past.
The video, which begins with the question, "If you were to die in 10 days, what would you want to do now?" shows the reality that 49.8% of abandoned companion animals face euthanasia or natural death within 10 days if they are rescued but cannot find a family.
11st is joining efforts to find families for abandoned animals and encouraging adoption while also running a 'Hope Shopping Campaign' that customers can easily participate in. Through the '2021 Hope Shopping Campaign' this year, 11st, together with the Animal Freedom Union, will distribute 'Adoption Kits' free of charge to 200 customers who adopt abandoned animals from the 'Jeju Animal Protection Center.' The adoption kit includes items necessary for welcoming an abandoned animal as a new family member, such as a companion animal guidebook, carrier, cushion, first aid kit, GPS tracking device, companion animal rescue sign, and a psychological test coupon. A 'Health Care Voucher' coupon is also provided, allowing free health checkups (blood test, ultrasound, heartworm test, X-ray, etc.) for the abandoned animals.
Customers can participate in supporting abandoned and companion animals simply by 'purchasing' 11st's hope products. When customers buy hope products registered by sellers, hope donation funds are accumulated, and the collected funds are donated to support abandoned and companion animals. Currently, a total of 28.47 million products, including dog and cat supplies, are registered as hope products.
A customer participation prize event will also be held throughout March. Customers who upload funny photos and stories of their companion animals taken by themselves will be entered into a draw to win prizes such as a 'Nello Pet Dry Room' (2 winners), 'Companion Animal Studio Photo Shoot Voucher' (5 winners), and SK Pay points of 1,000 points (10,000 winners).
Last month, 11st signed a business agreement with the Animal Freedom Union to promote 'companion animal awareness improvement and encourage adoption of abandoned animals' to carry out the 2021 Hope Shopping Campaign throughout the year.
