Chonnam National University Holds 2021 Academic Year Non-Face-to-Face Entrance Ceremony
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] The 2021 academic year entrance ceremony of Chonnam National University was held online.
Chonnam National University announced on the 2nd that due to COVID-19, the entrance ceremony was replaced by posting a pre-produced ceremony video on the official website and YouTube channel.
The non-face-to-face online entrance ceremony proceeded in the order of freshmen's arrival, declaration of admission approval, president's address, alumni association president's congratulatory speech, and included students' self-recorded videos.
The 2021 academic year Chonnam National University entrants total 6,040, including 4,650 undergraduate students, 1,100 master's students, and 290 doctoral students.
President Jeong Seong-taek emphasized, "Chonnam National University is a hall of learning and intellect that has led history and enlightened the era, a future-oriented university, a research-centered university, and a global university," adding, "The last piece needed to complete the puzzle is the grand dreams of the freshmen."
President Jeong also urged, "Discover a new self with a creative and challenging attitude, a humanistic cultural and artistic sensibility, and a community spirit to live together with neighbors."

Meanwhile, Chonnam National University will operate the first semester classes of the 2021 academic year in a hybrid format of remote classes, face-to-face classes, and online-offline mixed classes.
