Yeonggwang-gun Extends Social Distancing Level 1.5 Until the 14th
[Yeonggwang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jeonseong] Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim Junsung) announced on the 2nd that it will extend social distancing level 1.5 for two weeks until the 14th.
This decision was made considering the sporadic group infections occurring after the Lunar New Year holiday and the expected increase in infection risk due to increased human contact such as travel and gatherings during this month's school reopening and spring outing season.
Although COVID-19 vaccination has been in full swing since last week, there are concerns about the relaxation of quarantine vigilance due to the easing of social distancing. Therefore, it was decided to extend the level to focus on suppressing confirmed cases and blocking the third wave for the time being.
Accordingly, quarantine measures such as banning private gatherings of five or more people and restricting operation of entertainment facilities after 10 p.m. will be maintained as they are.
The principle of zero tolerance will be applied to violations of quarantine rules.
Businesses violating quarantine rules will be subject to a two-week suspension order under the 'One Strike Out System' in addition to fines, and individuals and business owners who violate quarantine rules will be excluded from various support programs such as disaster relief funds, and sanctions such as claims for damages will be strengthened if necessary.
