Ministry of SMEs and Startups, Recruiting Specialized Consulting Agencies for Small Business Owners
First Participation of Private Specialized Institutions, Introduction of New Consulting Techniques
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced that from the 3rd to the 25th of this month, it will recruit specialized consulting operation institutions to support the management improvement of small business owners.
This is part of the "Small Business Owner Capacity Building Project," which provides consulting using management and technical experts to strengthen the competitiveness of small business owners facing management difficulties.
Previously, the Small Enterprise and Market Service directly selected and managed consultants, but starting this year, specialized operation institutions will be selected in the form of consortia to significantly expand the consultant pool from the current level of about 500 to over 1,000.
To address previously pointed out issues such as limited industries and consulting methods focused on marketing and management, this year the consulting fields have been greatly expanded to include industry-specific business model (BM) advancement, digital transformation, safety, investment, and funding.
The scale of operation institution selection this year is about six institutions, and various specialized institutions capable of creating synergy, such as universities, public institutions, and private organizations, can apply by forming consortia.
The selection process will be conducted through document and presentation evaluations, comprehensively assessing consulting operation capabilities, consulting techniques, and support infrastructure levels.
The selected operation institutions will collaborate with the regional centers of the Small Enterprise and Market Service to perform pre- and post-consulting management, consultant matching, and supply of management support vouchers.
Baek Seok-hee, Director of the Small Business Management Support Division at the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, said, "The small business consulting project is an important initiative that can provide comfort and keys to overcoming crises to self-employed people who are in crisis and despair," adding, "We will continue to improve the system so that private sector expertise and innovation can be infused into the management activities of small business owners."
