Naju-si Begins First COVID-19 Vaccinations... Targeting Over 2,000 People
[Naju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yuk-bong] Naju City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Kang In-gyu) began administering the 'AstraZeneca (AZ) vaccine' on the 26th to approximately 2,000 residents and workers at 28 nursing hospitals and nursing facilities in the area.
The first vaccination took place around 9:30 a.m. that day at Naju Gwangju Nursing Hospital.
The first round of vaccinations targeting nursing hospitals and nursing facilities is planned to be completed by the 5th of next month through visits by contracted doctors or public health center vaccination teams, as well as vaccinations at the public health center.
Vaccinations for high-risk groups such as workers at hospital-level or higher medical institutions will begin sequentially from the 8th of next month, and COVID-19 response personnel will start from the 22nd of next month.
General citizens are expected to be able to receive vaccinations at the Naju Sports Complex Multipurpose Gymnasium, designated as a vaccination support center in the second half of this year, depending on vaccine supply conditions.
