Mapo-gu Provides Up to 1.5 Million KRW Employment Retention Support for Unpaid Leave Workers Affected by COVID-19
Applications accepted from March 1 to 31, with support funds up to 1.5 million KRW payable over 3 months
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Mapo-gu (District Mayor Yoo Dong-gyun) will continue to provide employment retention support funds this year to unpaid leave workers in the area who are struggling due to the impact of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), following last year.
This is to support the employment stability and livelihood of workers in crisis until the COVID-19 situation settles, enabling them to maintain at least a minimal business foundation. The district has expanded the unpaid leave support period and support amount this year, allowing up to 1.5 million KRW to be provided over a maximum of three months.
The support targets are workers who have taken unpaid leave of five days or more per month at companies with fewer than 50 employees located in Mapo-gu from November 14, 2020, to March 31, 2021, and whose employment insurance is maintained until April 30.
The application period for the employment retention support fund is from March 1 to March 31. To verify eligibility and prevent fraudulent claims such as double support, applicants must submit supporting documents including the ‘Business Registration Certificate,’ ‘Employment Insurance Workplace Acquisition List (for workplaces),’ and ‘Consent Form for Personal Information Processing’ along with the application form.
Applicants can download the employment retention support fund application form from the Mapo-gu Office website, fill it out, and then apply in person at the Mapo-gu Job Support Division or submit it via email (mapo8557@citizen.seoul.kr), fax, or registered mail along with the relevant supporting documents.
The district will select recipients within the budget range based on the selection criteria and provide the employment retention support funds accordingly.
Meanwhile, last year, the district supported a total of 1,739 people with approximately 1.1 billion KRW in employment retention support funds.
