Co-hosted by JoongAng Ilbo and Monthly JoongAng and sponsored by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the ‘10th 2021 Korea CEO Leadership Awards’ is given to the best CEOs in Korea who lead new paradigms and value management with outstanding leadership through continuous change and innovation.
The organizers highly evaluated County Governor Shin Woo-cheol of Wando for achieving administrative innovation to realize ‘Hopeful Wando where everyone is happy,’ establishing various policies for residents, visualizing the marine healing industry, which is Wando’s future strategic industry, and taking the lead in strengthening coexistence and cooperation for Wando’s development, demonstrating excellent leadership.
In addition, Wando has enhanced its status as a small but efficient and strong city by being selected as an excellent institution for fulfilling pledges for five consecutive years, receiving the Minister of the Interior and Safety Award at the Local Autonomy Management Competition, and being selected as an ‘Excellent Institution for Local Regulatory Innovation Certification’ by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
Furthermore, securing a budget of 92.6 billion KRW for the marine healing industry, attracting the National Subtropical Arboretum, being selected for public projects such as the Fishing Village New Deal 300, securing the largest-ever project budget of 290.7 billion KRW, completing the seafood export logistics center, and acquiring international certifications ASC and MSC for eco-friendly seafood such as abalone and seaweed laid the foundation for revitalizing the local economy and achieved results in job creation, receiving favorable evaluations.
County Governor Shin Woo-cheol said, “We are striving for proactive administration and field administration that residents can feel to bring about change and innovation in Wando,” and added, “We will continue to listen attentively to the voices of residents with a humble attitude and do our best to create a hopeful future Wando where everyone prospers.”
