Application for Urban Regeneration Resident Contest Project Open Until the 5th of Next Month
Recruiting Green New Deal Flower-Decorated Education Chrysanthemum Cultivation and Consignment Classes
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yuk Miseok] Gurye-gun announced on the 22nd that it will promote three projects, including the Urban Regeneration Resident Contest Project, to encourage resident participation in the Gurye-eup Urban Regeneration New Deal Project.
First, the Urban Regeneration Resident Contest Project is open to resident groups or organizations consisting of five or more members who have a living base in Gurye-gun. The contest fields cover all urban regeneration-related projects such as improving the living environment within the urban regeneration area, and revitalizing the economy, welfare, housing, culture, and community.
This contest project is promoted to increase residents' understanding and participation in the Gurye-eup Urban Regeneration New Deal Project, form resident communities, and lay the foundation for regional revitalization.
The application period is from the 22nd to the 5th of next month, and applicants can submit the application form and project plan documents in person to the Gurye-gun Urban Regeneration Support Center.
The Urban Regeneration Village Activists, who are accepting applications until tomorrow, are a distinctive project of the Gurye-gun urban regeneration initiative. They directly participate in making the village a better place to live by maintaining local environments such as alleys and planting and managing flowers, which received favorable reviews last year.
The number of recruits for environmental healers is 20. After the selection process, the program will operate 5 to 8 times a month for 3 hours a day from next month until December. Applicants must submit their application forms to the Gurye-gun Urban Regeneration Support Center.
Additionally, applications for the Green New Deal Flower-Chaewoon Education Chrysanthemum Cultivation Class and the Consignment Class can be submitted to the Urban Regeneration Support Center or via email by the 5th of next month.
The Green New Deal Flower-Chaewoon Chrysanthemum Class will recruit 100 people, with 30 for the cultivation class and 70 for the consignment class.
The Green New Deal Flower-Chaewoon course is operated as an advanced chrysanthemum class this year, following the wildflower course held last year, which received great responses from residents.
The cultivation class education period will run from the 16th of next month to October 19th, consisting of 12 sessions combining in-person and non-face-to-face online education.
Especially this year, besides the cultivation class where participants grow chrysanthemums directly through education, a consignment class will be operated where the center grows the chrysanthemums on behalf of the trainees, handing some over to them and exhibiting some at the autumn chrysanthemum exhibition in October.
The Flower-Chaewoon expert education is expected to continue as a harmonious festival involving residents linked to the autumn chrysanthemum exhibition in October, becoming a venue for community unity.
Kim Sun-ho, the governor of Gurye-gun, stated, “This urban regeneration resident participation project is an opportunity for residents to think about and solve local problems on their own, and residents' participation in public projects will be the foundation for sustainable urban regeneration.”
