Gwangyang City Implements Safety Insurance for All Gwangyang Citizens
The city covers full insurance premiums, supports up to 10 million won for 11 items
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Gwangyang City announced on the 22nd that it will implement the ‘Gwangyang City Citizen Safety Insurance’ to stabilize the lives and improve the welfare of citizens affected by unexpected disasters and accidents.
The Citizen Safety Insurance covers all citizens residing in Gwangyang City (including registered foreigners) and provides benefits to anyone without any separate subscription procedures or insurance premiums.
Additionally, compensation can be claimed regardless of the accident location or whether the individual has other insurance coverage, and the coverage period is one year, from the 11th of last month to February 10th of next year.
The coverage items include △death due to natural disasters △death or permanent disability due to explosion, fire, collapse, or landslide △death or permanent disability due to injury while using public transportation △death or permanent disability due to robbery injury △death by drowning accident △death or permanent disability due to agricultural machinery injury △school zone traffic accidents, among 11 items in total.
The coverage amount is 10 million KRW in case of death, and up to 10 million KRW depending on the degree of permanent disability (3~100%).
Insurance claims can be made by the victim or legal heir by submitting a claim form and related documents to NongHyup Property & Casualty Insurance when a claim event occurs, and the claim expiration period is three years from the date of the accident.
